Volvo V70

HPI CLEAR, 3 KEYS, FULL EXTENSIVE SERVICE HISTORY, HIGH SPEC, HEATED SEATS, AIRCON, SUNROOF. CAMBELT DONE. Extremely rare model and genuine example of a legendary future classic. This is the 2.5T AWD drive in Manual Transmission.

The car was registered just 2 months before the release of the phase 1 V70 R. If you pay close attention to the details it is almost a V70 R (Body styling, interior, spec etc)
She has the 2.5T 5 cylinder petrol engine with a low pressure turbo producing 193bhp, for some reason they called it a 2.5T but really it's the 2420cc 2.4T (same as T5 but with low pressure turbo as opposed to high pressure to produce the extra 27bhp).
What makes this car ultra rare is not only the engine and spec but the MANUAL gearbox is simply impossible to find. Please bear in mind only a handful of these great cars are still on the road. This is truly a genuine example.
She has been under sealed from new so the chassis and underneath are completely and utterly rust free. The exhaust system shows some surface rust and a little on the coil springs but zero on chassis or common areas. Please see / request photos. She has always been garaged and has super low mileage for its age. Completely standard and NEVER been modified or abused.
Comes with folder full of receipts and every original MOT certificate. Cambelt and water pump done last year with invoices to show, just been serviced using Castrol edge oil. Drives faultlessly and still has all the 193 horses under the bonnet. In my opinion, the mos reliable example of the most reliable car ever built. Built in a time when manufacturers actually had pride in building their cars and using the best materials. Built sturdy, built with reputation in mind and built to last! Rare opportunity to buy a Volvo 740 GLE saloon with a genuine 29,000 miles and in remarkable, original, unrestored condition. It has the automatic non turbo 2.3 litre petrol engine, sunroof and dual socket towbar.

I bought this car from its 2nd owner who is in his eighties and has owned the car since December 1988. He is a mechanic and Volvo enthusiast who owned and ran a large garage near Chesterfield and kept the car inside with little use during all that time. Test certificates going back to 2009 indicate that that the car has only covered 4,600 miles since then. In the last 5 years it has covered 417 miles. It has been regularly serviced and had a cam belt change about 2,000 miles ago. The car starts well, drives well and looks fantastic. All the leather upholstery is in good condition as is everything else. The only faults that I am aware of are a small scratch on the boot lid, the boot needs new gas struts and one of the hub caps is missing. All the tyres are good and the battery seems fine. A reference book titled “Pocket Mechanic Volvo 740 & 760 Series” is included.

The car has been owned by a mechanic since early 2000s, runs like new and has been well maintained with rear dampers and camshaft timing sensor replaced recently.
160200m over three owners, the car is blue metallic with panels intact save the bonnet, which suffers flaking paint.
The rear offside panel suffered a slow glancing compression from a reversing lorry, which has been restored. There are scuffs on some bumper corners.

A couple of seams of the leather seats require sewing. MOT until December.
